most people know i never like to talk about politics, but recently i've been reading the nytimes.com daily (and a lot of it as it is now my homepage) and i've come to the conclusion that i just don't trust elected officials. the public has no idea what is going on in the world and they'll just elect someone without knowing what their capabilities are. as such i'm begining to trust appointed officials much much more. example: presedent bush, don't trust him, but his secretary of state ol' condi? yeah, i trust her to be able to do her job correctly. pretty much i just dislike the entire legislative branch now. where i'm going with all of this? i dunno, you tell me

I've become so apolitical
I mean, I like studyign government, but I hate all politicians
cause they're not politicians to work for the government, they are there for themselves

TWATS

although i may not agree with her on things, i still respect her and think that she can do her job correctly. anyway, she was just an example especially because i like to call her "condi"

She's also really, really clever.

I hate to say it, but in all reality I don't object nearly as much to people being evil as I object to them being stupid. I can handle "evil, but intelligent" a LOT better than I can handle "well meaning, but stupid".

plus sandra day o'conner, probibly the only open minded consevative on the supreme court, resigned this morning and now our next supreme court justice lies in the hands of our good for nothing president good old georgie. he'll probibly pick a closed minded consevative republican against abortion, against same sex mariages and amazingly pro war. lets face it, bush screwed us over.

It may or may not be reassuring to you, but I've discovered that 90% of the work is done by unpaid volunteer interns. The remaining 10% is done by long-time professional staffers. To the best of my observational abilities, I think elected officials are figureheads, someone "pretty" to be a spokesman for the staff member.

So really, the folks we actually care about in the legislative branch are all the committee staffmembers.
